NY> Rogers Rock State Park, Lake George (can anyone tell me if Hammocks are allowed here)?

Any help on this topic is much appreciated. My family is planning a getaway at this popular Lake George state park but am not sure what their regulations are insofar as it pertains to hanging hammocks there. The last time I was there I was a ground dweller (back in the day before modern hammocking).

Thanks Tut, I spoke live with a NYSDEC employee, and she said that "so long as a tarp is used to cover the hammock, and the straps don't harm the trees or vegetation, and said hammock system stays in the camp site area, hammocking is allowed." Yay NY! Also booze is allowed if 21 and over in NY state parks. Another win. I guess the NYSDEC doesn't want open hammocks with people hanging out their unmentionables in public! I may bring a backup tent just in case as it is a car camping trip anyways. Peace in da East...NY that is.

It's not always easy to find a pair of suitable hanging trees in designated State Park campsites. They were constructed with tenting or RVs in mind and are often little more than clear-cut openings. Hanging from trees that ring the sites often puts you over the "property line" dividing the sites. Reserving a site ("site unseen," so to speak") might be hit or miss. Bring your tent.

Fortunately, my party has two adjoining sites, and a 3rd site across from that. I remain optimistic, but will bring a backup tent in case I strike out. Thanks again.
