Hmm I have never had an issue with it getting very wet. This is after MANY trips in the PNW rain and snow. If it gets a few dew drops or some blow back rain splashing on it (which is why I bought it), I dont really worry about it. Besides, my UQ/UQP is not ever in the stuff sack that long anyway; when I get home it all gets hung and dried with a quickness. I suppose if it does get really wet (not sure how...its waterproof, wont hold water and dries quick) I would just store it separate until I could dry it. YMMV.

Might be overthinking this just a bit. Its really not complicated. As stated above, if my UQP gets really wet (which is never/rarely does...) I would just disconnect it and store it separate. Honestly, I dont really see why you UQP would get so wet? Again, I camp in nasty weather often (rain, snow, wind) and my UQP almost never gets wet. Occasionally I get some dew on it or something and it dries super fast just hanging there on the hammock before I pack up. I suppose if you were not using a tarp and it was very cold, you could get a decent amount of dew/frost on your UQP..if you had to pack it up right then I would just pack it separate.

I’m glad to hear this works, I’m still pretty new to hanging and haven’t been caught in any downpours yet and that’s why I asked. I always expect the worst when I haven’t experienced it for myself, so I honestly didn’t know how wet UQP’s get. I figured if I’m just used to it being packed separately then I wouldn’t need to change things if it does get wet.
I might try it your way next time to see how I like it. Definitely one less thing to keep track of when packing, especially in the dark.
