My first attempt at a top quilt

    Howdy,

I have been reading quite a bit about diy gear and after reading pharmageek's post and watching jellyfish's youtube videos I decided to try it myself. I have 1oz hyperD baffle material and 500 grams of down.

I truly have no clue what I'm doing so I am learning and finding out as I go.[AIMG]IMG_6080.jpg[/AIMG] don't pay much attention to my drawings as I am fiddling with the numbers as I go and the diameter of the footbox is only 12 inches not 42

    And the butchering begins

I will post progress and my learning experience.

After cutting my fabric I noticed that the blue and the grey had a different feeling. I am wondering if the blue is calendared and the grey is not. One does have a flat and shiny side and the other one does not. I have reached out to RSBTR to see if they can find out. More to come as I try to make some progress.

Made some progress tonight cutting the baffles. The next step, a lot of sewing and finish that baby formula

You can save a huge amount of time by purchasing the 50' segments of noseeum baffle material from Ripstop. It is available in 3 widths. Made recent builds a lot easier

Thank you, ripstop by the roll sent me the correct grey fabric. Kudos to their customer service, they are outstanding. I highly recommend them and would not look anywhere else for diy supplies unless they don't have it.
