    Thanks for all the responses. I was looking at some of the State Parks but you never know what your going to get for folks with a hammock. It depends on which family members come. I may car camp and use a hammock at a state park but wanted options in case I did want to backpack in a few miles and set up camp. McKinney and Bastrop look good for car camping and this Goodwater Loop may work if we backpack. Again preciate y'all. ***My main goal is to sleep in the hammock and eat Franklin BBQ**** lol

    The campsites in that area can be pretty cheap. I think one is $6 a night but it's dry. Also there is one hike in campsite that is less than 2 miles from a trailhead.

    I really like Goodwater Loop around Lake Georgetown. Not very heavily used and has some excellent hiking and free primitive camping at a couple of spots.
