And we appreciate any raffle items you can help us with. @Jazilla has asked us to pick up the lead on this and hopefully we do him proud and put on another great event.
We will post any other needs that come up but otherwise we look forward to seeing you there!

    Hey cavaliera,

Spoke with Ripstop by the Roll and they will be sending some cool items for our raffle/door prizes! I will also be bringing an assortment of items from GEAUX Hammock including a few hammocks, a bug net, some tree hugers/whoopie slings and possibly a Costco under quilt conversion for prizes/raffle.

That's super great news Clark! Thanks so much for pulling that together!
I just might already have a shiny new Geaux hammock of my own by then so I can let other folks win one instead. I was thinking of doing a demonstration of making a set of whoopies and raffling them off too. And I will be making a little Dutch order soon for some hardware to raffle as well. We should have a nice booty of prizes for our people.

Sounds great! I have a spool of 7/64" Amsteel. Might have to bring my splicing kit as well. Splicing is like knitting for hammockers . Looking forward to it!

You probably have a lot more experience than I do with them. I’ve only ever made 2 pair! One I still use today and the other I gave away. We can team up on that demo!! Let me know any other ideas and we can try to make them happen too.
The sign up sheet is slowly populating so we may have a nice turnout again.

There’s usually a few with at least 1 family member along either a kid or a spouse or both. The more the merrier so bring them out with you! The trails and bayou are great for family activities. Some have brought kayaks and swam in the past (depending on the temperatures). The canyon (nearby drive) is nice to experience as well for a day hike.

You are from Monroe? I lived there when I was young. I went to Neville High in the 70's. I live in Oklahoma now. Is there a vibrant hanging community there?

Originally from Arkansas (El Dorado) but I have lived here for 23 years. My wife is from West Monroe. I am trying to increase the awareness of hammock camping in the area. I have a group of friends that hammock camp with me quite a bit and I have done some presentations to outdoor groups and scout troops as well. The Louisiana Hang does usually consist more of people from the southern part of the state. We would love to have you if you can make it!

So this would be good place for our first hang? I can finish up my Diy stuff by then, hopefully. Anyone know typical night temps?

Absolutely! You can see and try out a lot of different setups. I read your blog post on your DIY hammock. It looked great! I know me and some others will have extra gear that you would be welcome to use if you don't get everything finished up. The temps are a guess but the nights are usually pretty cool. Two years ago the nights were cool and the days were perfect! Hope to see you there.
