So, where are the links to this vapor barrier stuff? I'm with kitsap with the comfort of being enclosed. I made a top cover Fronkey bug net style but didn't add a mesh window. Think it would be feasible to add it with a closable flap, like a tent window?

vbl's are a good thing to research when dealing with condensation. I have a western mountaineering vbl that does keep the moisture from migrating into my down gear. It does create a small tropical climate within the vbl that may bother some people, However, I use the vbl primarily to protect my down form extended use in cold conditions. The only other issue and I think the main issue we are all dealing with is condensation from our breath which I think Trailslug nailed with the facemask snorkel.

People think the colder it is the more you zip them closed. That is the exaxt opposite of what you have to do.

And when it's really cold out there you don't zip up. You need to own the proper quilts and tarps.

New to the colder temp hammocking... What is a hammock sock, and this privacy tube looks AMAZING! SO, what and where can I look for this?

I do the same with VB clothing. Or, to a lessor degree with a space blanket on top of my under insulation. mostly inside a HH Super Shelter. Some combination of these things, along with a frost bib and a 6" diameter face vent,, has kept me bone dry inside the HH version of a sock, even with a non breathable(sil nylon) under cover. Well, it kept every thing bone dry except for the frost bib. That piece of fleece was quite wet. But no sign of moisture anywhere else inside the HH top and bottom covers. This was at 6F with no tarp.
