    Direction of UQ Baffles?

    Heeelllooo all-

New to quilts - Just purchased a Hammockgear Burrow 20 that they had available in stock, but I need an UQ as well.
I've been shopping around all the major quilt manufacturers (or ones that I've read about)...
Having a tough time pulling the trigger on one. For me, one thing that's got me tied up is deciding on baffle direction...
Sort of narrowed it down to JRB Mt. Washington, or an incubator from HG.

What else is out there that I'm missing, and what is your take on the direction of the baffle?

I use a Hennessy Explorer UL, so any suggestion of UQ that matches nicely is greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,
    SirHammock

the rule of thumb I've always understood and gone with was longitudinal (or angled) baffles for underquilts and lateral baffles for top quilts. This helps mitigate the down migration the best. There are also other designs like the karo step baffling which use open cornered boxes instead of long tubes. For underquilts though, you'll mostly find longitudinal baffles. I think JRB is one of the few exceptions.

Baffles running head-to-foot, lengthwise make the most sense for UQs. That's how i see most of them built. Loco Libre has an interesting "chevron" pattern I believe, that is supposed to mitigate down migration. Good luck with your purchase.

I have UQs with both and all have served me well.
It is important to migrate your down on either desighn.
    Carry forth.

Thanks for the comments. Seen that video, Shug-good stuff as always. After migrating the down, I feel like horizontal baffles would have a higher tendency to move down under the back/buttocks region.

Let's say I went with Jacksrbetter, which UQ would you rock for an HHEUL?

    Cheers!
