    Winter Wookie or 3-Season Wookie?

    Hi all,

I知 trying to decide between the 3-Season Wooki degree) or Winter Wooki (0 degree) for my colder weather UQ. I already own a 40 degree Incubator for warmer weather trips, and I have taken that down to around 30 degrees and was comfortable, but I could tell I at the limit. I am a moderately warm sleeper and I live in Middle Tennessee, so I tend to overnight in places like Big South Fork or Smoky Mountain areas most often.

I致e read a bunch of threads similar to what I知 asking, but I figured I would ask between these two specifically. Let me know what you would choose.

    Thanks.

I've got the winter Wooki and strongly suggest it over the 3 season. I've used mine in temps from 50 degrees down to 20 degrees, just by adjusting which top quilt I'm using. I'm sure I would be comfortable in lower temps, just haven't tested it under 20 yet. I think you'll find the winter version to be pretty versatile, especially if you've already got a 40 degree under quilt.

If this is for winter hanging and you have the funds and you do not mind carrying the extra weight then there's no reason not to go with the 0 degree quilt.

In comparison with the 20ー Incubator, I found the 20ー Wooki less warm. I'm an extremely cold sleeper, and I have needed a hot water bottle to take a 20ー Incubator down to 32ー. With the 20ー Wooki I started feeling "not quite warm enough" at around 50ー. That's why I got a 0ー Wooki. I'd rather carry 3.5oz more than risk not being completely comfortable.

If I could do it over I'd go with the 0* ! I have the 20* and love it but sometimes get a little uneasy when approaching it's limit.

Been down to 13 degrees with the 3 Season Wooki no problem, with no wind of course. BUT, I really wish I had a 4 season Wooki or even the new wicked cold model, the Scandanavian I think? Anyways, yeh, if you already have a 40 degree Incubator, I would get the 0 degree 4 season Wooki for sure. More versatility for you. Use your Inc during the summer, and the Wooki the rest of the time when the temps dip.

Exactly my experience. I regret I didn't get the 0-degree.

I learned my lesson with my Lynx. Now I go with the Winter 0 F.

I sleep cold and once I am cold, getting warm is very difficult.

As others have stated, UQ's are easy to use in a wide range of temp. I now have Winter weight UQ's. Even in summer where we hang 50 F or lower in the wee hours even in summer, is the norm.

I went with the Winter Wooki and placed my order. I may need to purchase a Winter top quilt down the road as I only have a Burrow 40 with 2oz overstuff. I知 looking forward to giving the Wooki a run in colder weather. So far the Hammock Gear quilts have served me well and will continue to do so in warmer weather.
Thanks for your help/opinions. Happy New Year to you all.
