    Hennessy Rope --> Continuous Loops?

    I bought two 15" CLs from Dutch in 7/64" amsteel, in different colors: red for head, blue for shoe.

    I kept the original spectra lines, though I don't know what I'm going to do with them yet.

    You can always convert to cl later if you want.
    This is really close to what I ended up doing. I set the HH up with the tarp attached directly to the ropes and pulled taught. I than marked the spot where the tarp prussic ended up. I then took everything down and tied a bowline for a permanent loop just past the spot that I had marked. Carabiner in loop, connect to Atlas straps and good to go.

    I think it gives me the best of both worlds for now. Can still directly attach the tarp, can connect directly to straps, and was still able to cut off about 3’ of heavy-ish rope on each end.

    I have installed whoopie slings to Hennessy Hammock and am very happy with them. The Hennessy ropes are a pain. Did not use whoopies with continuous loops. Just installed directly on hammock. If you want just a loop to use with a carabiner, you could buy continuous loops as the other man suggested. I don't think the rope from the Hennessy would be easy to make into a reliable loop.

    I converted mine to CL so I can use the same straps as the rest of my hammocks. I like it a lot better and it seems to hang better and more comfortable

    I had a problem with my factory suspension on the HH. I got in it after it had rained and I sagged to the ground. I replaced them with whoopie slings (many thanks to Dutch for his help on this), and I never had an issue since.

    There is a YouTube video on how to replace the HH suspension lines.

    I was looking for this exact info re. CL length for my exped.

    I'm totally fine with tying a trucker's hitch to my webbing, but the adjustability of a whoopie sling is becoming increasingly clear to me, especially in inclement weather.

    To be aware, there are actually 2 type HH ends so if you watched any of the youtubes on converting HH to a CL, it may not apply. Still doeable with either, but the ends may be entirely different. i used "about" 14" CL's on the newer HH hammock ends, double wrapped... and was left with just about a 7" CL end... which is just about perfect, IMHO.

    For speed, ease and fine tuning adjustments.... whoopie type suspensions are certainly nice. More recently I've been switching over to UCR's and liking that option, but the same principal applies. Speed & Ease.
