    Superior Hammock (Kickstarter)

Was surprised that a search here didn't pull up anything on this Kickstarter offering (could be user error)...

    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...-e/description

Reading the description, I'm compelled to offer this...

"You did it! Congratulations! World's Lightest Hammock!"

    World's Lightest Hammock?
The Superior Hammock itself weighs barely over two pounds, and the entire system is just 6 pounds, much lighter than your average tent.

    Ultimate Pack Includes:

    • Superior Hammock
    • Suspension
    • Ridgeline
    • Bug Net
    • Stuff Sack
    • Superior Shelter
    • Superior Blanket

    Kickstarter Price: $639
    Retail: $839

    10' Hammock?

My 11' hammock with 20° insulation and tarp is 4.4 lbs.

What ° is this rated for?

Says it's good for 30*-75*. Looks like it's designed for non-hammockers, since the comparisons are all vs. a tent. Without reading every word, I don't know exactly what it is. It looks like multiple different hammocks with, or without, a bug net. Since they say it's faster set-up than using an underquilt, I'm assuming one hammock has integrated insulation.
But for the grace of God, there, I go...

I don't know. Kickstarter is full of these projects where its obvious there's been very little research done. Some of this guy's comments make it sound like he's got some experience, but how can you push this hammock like he is with Sheltowee and BoneFire hammocks out there? Perhaps its deliberate exploitation of the Kickstarter market?

Reading all the way to the end, the guy on the far right in the red polo shirt looks kinda familiar... or are handlebar mustaches common amongst hammockers?

I don't understand why they compare it to a "traditional" tent setup that also includes a tarp?

I can't stand Kickstarter. 14-mile-long webpages, tons of videos, fancy graphics plastered all over the place that look like they were all done by the same designer every time, "testimonials" or "as seen on" logos slapped all over, probably just because those people received some kind of incentive...name recognition if nothing else, animated gifs up the a--.

Basically a 90-minute Ronco infomercial for today's generation.

Doesn't hurt me though, so keep em going. The more stuff you throw at the wall, the more that sticks.

I think they are referring to their Daylight Hammock as being the lightest not the camping set up. But that daylight hammock is super short 8 ft and 41 in wide. I certainly does not look comfortable to me and I would doubt someone at 300 lb would find it comfortable. Screen Shot 2017-12-21 at 2.12.36 PM.png

I stopped scrolling through the kickstartrr campaign the minute I saw the "hang" under the bridge and over the river. Can't believe they've already fleeced 42k from investors.
