I am getting ready to head out for a week of travel with my Tensa 4. What I am wondering, when you use the tarp extenders, what is the possibility of rain leaking from the tarp and down to the hammock. I have a SLD 13'. I have not tested my setup in the rain. The week I will be traveling looks like rain almost every night. Just curious what other experiences anyone may have. Thanks

I have the 12’ UGQ WD and it rained... no leaks. I’ve also tested it in porch mode with the blast doors open, no issues with leaks.

I've tested mine with my DIY 12' winter tarp. No leaks in rain (sometimes heavy) and snow.

Thanks, I just didn't want to be on the road and find rain leaks down a pole and soaks the hammock. testing at home I don't see where rain could come in but just checking for opinions. Thanks a lot

If it did leak down the pole, it would be the tarp pole extender, not the Tensa pole itself. ETA: if the setup is solid, no rain should ever enter inside. The tarp covers over all of the poles.

I have mine setup a little high (pictured below). It can be adjusted for a lower profile.

I can easily readjust it (lower the profile) for heavier rain storms, if need be. Even with moderate rain, my whole setup was bone dry.

Also, in your picture, I see you have your hammock set with less angle. I see a lot of pictures that way. I think I need to try that for a night and see the difference.

I used Dutch’s spiderweb and the mantis for both sides. If I didn’t like the high angle, I add more webbing (longer) for a lower profile.

Like the ol’ mighty Shug said in one of his videos, “It takes a little bit of tweaking, it takes a little bit of tweaking, but once it’s set, it’s set.” (Paraphrasing)

Mine is arriving tomorrow! Gonna play with setting it up in the backyard a couple of times and then take it with me to MAHHA for its first run. I’m excited!
