    couple of questions (which may or may not already be answered elsewhere): what's the purpose of the two rubber bands on some of the poles? in the video i noticed that after the push pin is inserted into the 2 pole holes and the toggle is "buttoned" you don't loop the line around one of the poles as described in the instruction page, how important is that extra looping step?

    The O-rings are just to prevent clatter of the tubes when packed. Also i've used them as soft tie-out points for my hammock, slipping zing-it under the rubber.

    The intent of the loop-around-pole tip is to assure that the loaded Amsteel line isn't able to sway/fret against the edges of the holes in the poles, which could lead to line damage. Subtle evolution in connection technique (the "flatworm" button/toggles are new) may have rendered this tip irrelevant with what's shipping.
