    We could ask the people who sew our bags about making pole sleeves. They sure would help prevent sand fouling, and please those who don’t like the shiny metal look.

    Should there be 4 sleeves, or 8 half-sleeves for the 4- and 3-segment sections? That way a half sleeve would fit Solo. Same dilemma as with snakeskins for tarps etc.: whether to have one long or two halves.

    Would black be enough? I mean, besides the obvious black-orange tiger striping. Wouldn’t want to stomp on other vendors ready to do one-offs in camo or distinctive colors.

    I think offering two lengths (or is that 3?) makes a lot of sense. Plenty of folks stick with the "standard" Tensa4. Basic black is good.

    I like the idea of one-offs by other vendors. Best of both worlds. (I'm sure you're not surprised by that opinion.)

    My vote would be four sleeves rather than 8 half sleeves…quicker set up! Besides, if you make the sleeves fit somewhat loosely anyway (easier to slide on and off) and you use light weight material (not stiff), a full length sleeve would easily and naturally accordion down enough to work just as well on a Solo! I used Hexon for my pole sleeves and they’d work fine allowing them to fall naturally gathered down to half length.

    (Course, I also strongly prefer single tarp snakeskins over two piece ones…less fiddly!)

    Not sure my vote would be worth anything since I only have a Solo but . . . I prefer one snakeskin on my tarp and will eventually have a single skin on my Solo pole, aluminum is just too shiny in the desert and grit is a concern.

    I'm a vote for one sleeve per pole.

    @Latherdome,

    Please let us know if you folks decide to offer the pole sleeves. I think theyd be a great accessory.

    Happy Spring All.

    Another successful trip with the Tensa4! I stayed at the Panamint Springs Resort in Death Valley for a motorcycle rally for 4 nights. There aren't an abundance of trees, so the stand was perfect here. I used a rock at the foot end to anchor the stand, another rock to tie the tarp to at the foot end, and some big 10" nails for the tarp guy lines.

    What a great way to wake up!

    Nice trip! The Tensa4 is such a perfect way to go for stuff like that. That gets my itch up for a motorcycle trip ASAP.

    Nice! Last time I tried camping in the desert the wind was horrible and I hated it. I was using my Amok Draumr with the Tensa, I'm not sure if a gathered end would have made a difference or not. The tarp was tied off at every point possible, in some cases double staked.

    Huh, never thought of pole skins! Brilliant! I would definitely be nice to have.
