    YOBO Gear - Turtlebug stand

At HangCon this year, I had a chance to sit in the pre-production models of the upcoming Turtlebug stand from YOBO Gear. Calvin is solving some user challenges/problems with other stands in interesting ways. To me, this one solves for the "Price" factor and the "Quick setup time" factor that some people don't care for, while creating a platform that allows quite a bit of flexibility (and many use-cases I hadn't even thought of!). A Kickstarter is coming up, and I will likely blow some discretionary funds on procuring one. Curious what others' reactions are to the product.

I have seen a few YouTube's of HangCon itself where the stands were shown, but no dedicated Turtlebug videos yet.

    YOBO Gear - Turtlebug stand

I saw the demo at HangCon 24. I liked the small stand that my 2yo would happily jump into. I was told as my 2yo continues to grow, so would her stand through optional accessories to expand the stand. This was a great idea. I plan to jump in on that kickstarter.

Wondering how this will hold up to the wind. Assuming you'll have to guy the stand out a bit.

Best to guy it out on any windy day. Hammocks and tarps will act like a parachute.

If no wind, then no worries.

I'm very interested in the ease of removing segments. Like can one get the camping version and easily convert it to chair mode mid-day?

That seems to be the case. Pretty cool. They specifically say on their website about the chair - "All you need to do is remove one segment from the lounger ridge pole to get the perfect stand for hanging a hammock chair". And on youtube - Q:but then does that mean 1 model that can adjust to all the 3 sizes? - "yes, you can add or subtract segments to make any size you like — even sizes we don’t show."

I had just been looking at that exact thing.
