It looks to me like either the hammock is shorter than most (maybe a 10’?) or the tarp is much longer? Any chance that tarp is 12’ per side square with a 16-17’ diagonal as it ridge line?

So I'm totally still having setup issues, it's either 2 or to the ground or in hitting poles head or feet. I've adjusted them per recommendations. Only think I can think of is longer poles and wider base..... Or build sturdy base blocks to raise it up 6" or more

Quick question, how do you use the straps with the orange screw, and will the straps work with the boom stakes?

Of course. Thanks. I’ve even seen that video.

Doesn’t quite answer the boom stake with straps. I just want to know if there’s a reason that wouldn’t work well.

The boom stake there is a pdf at the bottom of the website that shows how to use.
Basically you hook the loop around the stake and slide it up near the ear and tie a half hitch at the end of the boom opposite of the stake end.

I see that, and have the paper version, but I only shows amsteel. Good news is I just tried it with webbing and it seems to work.

I've used it with the straps not problem. I now use a dogbone to go from the stake to the strap. It just make less bulk to deal with around the boom. Just larks head the dogbone to the strap. I think the one I'm using is about 15" long.

That’s a good idea. Thanks for sharing.
