    Hi @tangara,
If you tilt the 2 poles away from the tree, at the same angle as they would be in a 4 pole setup, there is no tension on your anchor. All the tension will be towards the tree.
You will have to tie a line from the anchor to the bottom of the poles so they don’t slip away:

@virtualbotanist I have done almost the same thing, except with my paddle and two lines and a single tree at the other end. This made the tarp completely independent of the hammock and freed up both orange screws for the lines since I tied the stand to the tree as well.

I’m also 6’7” and have an XLC but have moved on to a 12’ trail lair.
I would look into a dedicated tent pole in your your situation and reserve the trekking poles for porch mode.

I ordered a Tensa 4 yesterday. Now the wait begins to receive it and then start setting it up!

Any thoughts on how the Tensa would work with the new 30" wide Haven tent XL that's coming out? Anyone used the regular Haven and noticed how much room there would be for a wider version?

I'm contemplating selling the Amok XL and trying the Haven XL

    Tks.

    Tks.
Not tried my Haven on the Tensa4 but imagine it would hang like any other hammock. The Amok worked on the Tensa so imagine the Haven would even be easier to hang.

What I'm concerned about are the upper 30" spreader bars contacting the legs and how far apart the legs would have to be so it all clears. 30" spreaders maybe 2' down from the suspension line leaves me wondering if the spreaders would fit in front of the legs and the base of the hammock hang outside / behind the legs. Or maybe everything fits in behind the legs or the base of the stand is so wide everything clears ...

I emailed Haven and got this response ...

    "Hi there,
Could you tell me the distance between hanging supports on your stand? Recommended minimum distance is 9.5 to 10 feet. It's possible that the diagonal bars may interfere with the bottom corners of the tent, since this is not shaped like a regular hammock.
Let me know if you have any other questions! "

All I can say is Warbonnet RR bridge hammocks works on it so don't see why Haven would not. You will just have to mess about a bit to get the proper adjustments.

Searched the thread but couldn't find an answer.

I know this is designed to fit "gathered-end" hammocks, but does that include traditional Mayan hammocks in which youre doing a perpendicular hang?

It works with gathered ends up to 12’ long. Many Mayans are longer than that. I don’t see a problem laying transverse a la Amok Draumr (which also works).

Kind of a silly question, but does it matter the order that the tubes are connected to each other for the trekking treez?

I figured it probably doesn't matter, but I figured I'd ask since the instructions specified a specific order (https://www.tensaoutdoor.com/wp-cont...tructions1.pdf)
