Derek Hansen’s The Ultimate Hang 2nd edition. Got it as a late holiday present today and already super impressed. The first book was great but this one is packed with so much more material.

I guess my best purchase was investing $40 in the raffle at the Loco Libre Hang in November at Batona Camp, NJ. I won a Dutch Chameleon in Woodland Camo!

I also bought a top cover ($57), so I've already spent $97 on a hammock I won!

I got a 20° Burrow in Feb. Can't believe I stuck with the sleeping bag for so long.

This showed up in my mailbox this week. Almost forgot I ordered it after seeing it in this thread.
Brief review:
1. It is probably the warmest thing I've ever worn on my head with a good inch of down all around.
2. It doesn't follow your face too well when you turn your head sharply.
3. Has the common balaclava problem of my glasses fogging up if the face opening is somewhat closed.
4. Squishes down to fit in the tiny sack provided and seems to weigh nothing.
Haven't worn it in the hammock yet.

Three 2017 purchases that stood out to me in that I didn't expect much from them:
Initially an afterthought purchase, the Thermarest Z-Seat has really served me well. From avoiding scraping my knees to keeping my behind from getting cold, not forgetting being used in the footbox of my quilt for extra warmth. I didn't think that small piece of foam would be so rugged and helpful.
Reflectix. I made a pot cozy with it. It has cut down of significantly on my fuel usage and I get to eat warm food all through the end of the meal, not just at the beginning like before.
The SteriPEN. It's a rechargeable UV light to treat water. For my solo uses, I found it way more convenient than using filters, especially in winter.
