    PRE-SALE - 1" Venom Ultralight Webbing/Tree Straps

When we announced Venom UHMWPE pack webbing this fall, you immediately asked if a 1" version would ever surface for hammock straps...

Well, today's the day. Introducing 1" Venom UHMWPE Ultralight Webbing....

    Venom UL webbing main.jpg

    Venom UL webbing zoom.jpg

Now I'm not a gram weenie or a rocket scientist, but it doesn't take either to see the difference between Venom UL webbing and your standard polyester. To be specific, Venom UL webbing is...

    - Lighter (2.2 grams/ft to be exact)

    - More durable (UHMWPE is awesome)

    - More compressible

...all for the same strength as much heavier standard 1" polyester. Coupled with a super tight weave and solution dyed yarn that won't rub off with no UV degradation, Venom UL webbing makes for one of the lightest, most durable suspension options on the planet.

And did we mention it's BLACK???

    *****************************************

We have the first roll in-house already, but the main part of the lot is still in production and about two weeks out from arrival. That being said, we're doing things a bit differently this time.

First, from now until the expected launch date of 1/3/18 (*approximate/estimated), we're running a PRE-SALE. If you order between now and then, not only will you get your webbing first, but you'll also get 20% OFF retail price!

-> Click HERE for 1" Venom Ultralight Webbing PRE-SALE and 20% OFF

Second, for those of you who don't DIY or sew, we're offering pre-made Venom UL 12 ft tree straps for a couple extra bucks. We may or may not decide to continue this sewn service after the PRE-SALE.

-> Click HERE for 1" Venom Ultralight Tree Straps PRE-SALE and 20% OFF

Note that any orders placed during the PRE-SALE will be held in their entirety (no splitting, etc) until the Venom UL webbing arrives. In an effort to keep things organized, we also won't be accepting any changes or additions to PRE-SALE orders. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

As always, thanks so much for your support. Everyone around the shop is pretty excited for this one and we hope you are too! If you need anything or have questions, don't hesitate to let us know.

    THANK YOU
    - Kyle

    Do you know the thickness?
Also do you happen to know if this webbing works with the different hardware common to many users?

Hey there, thickness is listed under the "specs" tab on the product page, as well as a warning for buckles. It is just too thin to recommend for use with buckles. It works awesome with Becket hitch etc. It could possibly work with Marlin spike replacement hardware, but we are not officially recommending that.

I missed the thickeness in the specs section. Thanks for pointing that out and clarifying the hardware question.
    Becket hitch it is then.

    No prob!
My favorite knot for suspension is the slipped larkshead. I tie it faster than the Becket, let me see if I can find the thread on it.

How does this strap material respond when untied after it’s been loaded. Does it curl up into a rope shape rather than hold its shape as a strap? One of my peeves with the newer thin UL dyneema straps..

Stays pretty flat around the tree. You do get some rope shape at the knot, but it can be smoothed out. That being said, it's 0.6 mm thick, so it will not act like 3000 poly webbing. The key with this stuff is UL. We have Venom "pack webbing" that is a bit thicker, and might suit your needs better. A pair of 12 foot straps using that webbing comes in around 2.9 oz instead of 1.9. Hope that helps!

    ******Update*******

Wanted to pass along the good word that this lot finished weaving TODAY . We should receive everything and begin shipping within about a week.

This also means the clock is ticking on pre-sale pricing... Regular prices will resume just as soon as we begin shipping.

We also have the official tensile strength test data now. I’ll post that soon as I’m out of the car and back in the office tomorrow...

How does this webbing hold up to using the marlin spike to hang?
