Thanks for all the info! And yes, Rainman, I was thinking of 1/4” but I am reconsidering at this point. The weight and bulk don’t bother me that much. My last shelter was a Diamondbrand two man tent I bought in '79 or ‘80 so I feel like I just got half my pack back by going to a hammock! Grizz made a great point about bury length. Adding two feet to my minimum distance between trees seems a little silly. Probably just bring an extra set of glasses and try out the 1/8” whoopies. Worst case scenario I have to make new whoopies!

8600 lb line would be awesome. Plus a RL.

Did somebody say quarter inch Ridgeline:<) this is off my first hammock ever, from 6-7 years ago.20171218_182805.jpg
By all means, let's argue about whether or not a hammock will hurt a tree. All the while ignoring the fact that there is an island of garbage the size of Texas floating in the Pacific ocean. Or how about the fact that over 75% of the world's nuclear reactors are leaking...

They also make a 3/16" which is halfway between the 1/8" and the 1/4"...the 1/4" is pretty fat
