I took my new Hangtime Hook on a scout camping trip this weekend. It connected easily and quickly to the ridgeline of my Hennessy Expedition, and I hung my phone in the clip and played Youtube videos while I was hanging in the afternoon in a rainstorm. I was even able to hold my Anker battery and Samsung Galaxy phone with the single clip, so that I could recharge the phone while looking at the screen. The hook works as advertized. I need to see what I can use to tie other stuff like glasses or flashlights to the hook. It is a lot more convenient than the mesh ridgeline pocket. which is cut in a strange pattern.

My only problem with it is that when I sat up in the morning I would hit my head or shoulder on the hook, and the phone would slip out of the clamp and fall into the hammock. I think I must find a way to tie the phone to a cord and tie the cord to the hook. That way, even though the hook clip releases the phone, the cord would still hold the phone so I can more easily retrieve it.

I wonder if the printing process could be refined to make the hook smoother. I showed it to a Printing enthusiast, and he was surprised at the rough serface of the plastic, which tends to snag on sweaters.

I am overall happy with the product. I can see getting two or more and storing more stuff in the hammock with me. I plan to rig something to hang my boots from the ridgeline when I get another one. If I connect it to the tarp ridgeline, I can hang a hanger from the hook and hang up my clothes.

    Thanks everyone.

My boots are always way too dirty to come in the hammock with me; I 'biner them to the head end suspension. You do have scorpions out there right so on the ground would be bad.

Scorpions?? Maybe squirrels or copperhead snakes would find refuge in my boots. I am pretty sure the tornadoes we have here blow all the scorpions back into Texas where they belong.

Just wanted to say thank you for donating some of these to the raffle for the MAHA Hang. I was lucky enough to win one. Hope to try it this week end.

For those of you who ordered one, did you get any email confirmation (other than from PayPal)? I ordered two on the 24th, and while I'm not surprised that they haven't arrived yet, it seems unusual that I haven't received any email from Ridgeline Media.
