Winter Dream 11 with Ridge Runner

Is any one using this setup currently? I’m curious how well it works. I just purchased some external spreader bars since I’m sure it will be almost necessary but I’m also considering buying an additional tarp specifically for a bridge hammock. I would love to hear all of your feedback.

I have a Winter Dream 12 footer that I use with a Ridgerunner. I would assume the 11 footer would work just as well.

The only difference with the RR is that I have to pitch the tarp a bit higher than with a gathered-end hammock.

I used to use outside spreader bars but hated them.

Below are pictures of my setup. The snow pic was from last weekend in the North Georgia mountains. There was 6 inches of snow on the AT where I was camping.

Can you close your doors all the way in the 12'? I'd be concerned that on 11' they wouldn't close around the triangle suspension.

I use my 12' Winter Haven with my Ridgerunner and it closes most of the way. I have an 11 foot winter tarp as well and it will not close around the stock suspension.

I have a WD 12 that I use with my Ridgerunner. Cannot close the doors all the way due to the suspension triangles. Can get them mostly closed, but there still is a gap where the aforementioned triangles pass through. I think you'd need like a 14' tarp to really close the doors totally.

I also have found the snaps a bit less useful than I originally thought they would be. I've pretty much gone to shockcord to opposite corner like Trailslug's set up to close the doors.

The WD13 with pole mods is the way to go if your using a Ridgerunner and you want to close the doors.

I have used my HG 11' Cuban tarp with my WBRR in some heavy rain and stayed dry. Drip lines on all 4 corners of the hammock make it work.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

I use a WD 12' with my RR but can close my doors because I had Dutch make me shorter dog bones. Not any more tipsy, and no problem with spreader bars. I am 220 lbs and use carbon fiber spreader bars.
Some days I can't tell whether I found a rope or lost a horse...
