Hi. I am really new to hammock camping. Actually, if my co-worker had not told me about UQ i would have had a really bad time of it on an upcoming planned backpacking trip.
I have enough time before the trip to be able to have either made.
I just bought an Eno Doublenest Onelink from the REI cyber sale, and before just used hammocks as a place to nap in parks and in the backyard
After running around the web and seeing what is out there (and there is a TON) I have pretty much narrowed it down to these 2.
I am 5'4" and so these sizes will be "full-coverage" for me.
These are the specs that seem the most important, but I was wondering what I might be overlooking -
Both will be the 850 goose down fill
HG Incubator:
Size: 73x44" (short)
Fill: 11oz
Wt: 20.25 oz
Included Accessories: suspension, stuff sack, storage bag
Price: $245 (including shipping)
UGQ Zeppelin:
Size: 66x44"
Fill: 11.87oz
Wt: 21.71
Accessories: suspension, stuff sack
Price: $224.85 (incl shipping) *currently on sale
**for an additional $10 I can shave off 1.35 oz by upgrading outer material which will make it closer in weight and price to the HG (is it worth that $10 to go this route?)
From what I see, the main difference seems to be in that additional .87 oz of fill and the length. So, does that make the UGQ fluffier/loftier/warmer?
From other posts, it sounds like both are great, but tend to favor the HG. Does the sale price of the UGQ swing the vote?
Because of the pricing... I am leaning towards the UGQ Zeppelin
Thanks for helping a ground dweller learn to swing in the trees
