I've tried the hooks but I just was too worried about the damage they would do to my continuous loop. That's a lot of weight rubbing around on such a small space with a sharpish edge. I'm not sure the carabiner option is a lot better for wear, but it's what I decided to go with. I just felt as it there wasn't as much stress on your amsteal from them, although I do wish they had just a little more rounded shape on the edges.
I hate it when people accuse me of lolly gagging when I'm clearly dilly dallying...

I've not used the hooks, not opposed, just haven't. I like the biners and I enjoy their multi functionality. I wouldn't worry about wear for either of them. Continuous loops are pretty **** cheap..

Love the hooks in the adjustable loop of a whoopie. Easy to use, just clip them on. No fiddling with a biner. Easy to make adjustments. Can't loose them. Work fine as water breaka through lots of nasty storms.

Got probably 1200 trail miles on them (and my pace is slow, so that works out to more nights than most) and havn't seen enough wear on the CLs to warrant replacing them. And if I did, that would cost me what? $16 if I wanted Dutch to make them for me? For 3 years of hiking?

    If it's a concern, polish the hook's edges ...

I recently went through the same process. Bought a Warbonnet hammock with whoopie slings larksheaded onto the hammock's bunched ends. Thought about all the potential variations - using biners, toggles, just tying a hitch ... But the ease of deployment and adjustability brought me back to whoopies larksheaded onto tree huggers, with whoopie hooks in the adjustable loop, and 8" CLs larksheaded onto the bunched ends.

I have and use hooks with no ill effects. I thoroughly enjoy their simplicity and ease of use.

    Dutch Biner vs Whoopie Hooks

I love Whoopie hooks. I have never had an issue and they are quick. It’s my go to suspensions. No wear from what I have seen.
