Favorite top quilt patterns / styles?

The question of fabric width suddenly occurred to me as I was putting together my order for TQ/UQ supplies (https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...n-fabric-width), but I've realized I need a lot more knowledge than that -- a better idea of overall construction would be helpful.

So, for those that have made them, what are your favorite top quilt patterns?

For those that have purchased and used multiple styles -- do you prefer horizontal or vertical baffles? or a combo of the two à la Zpacks?

    Thanks!

Here are my TQs. I have no preference in baffle style.

Pretty comprehensive review of styles. I'm learning that hammock-specific TQs don't need to be so wide.

So... any sewing patterns out there?

I really like Karo Step for a TQ pattern. I have made a couple, here is one:

Next would be a version of Loco Libre's Chevron pattern. I haven't made one of those but probably will for my next quilt.

EE's baffle configuration works best at down control for me.

Thanks for that link, rais'n... had looked at that thread but forgot about it. Hadn't considered Karo Step baffles... do you find you have to shake the down back into place very often?

I am definitely concerned about down control. Trying not to repeat the experience of the down comforter on our bed, which needs to have the down laboriously shaken back into place weekly. LOL.

Karo is a good bit of trouble for me.

I have packed and unpacked that quilt 20+ times and have not noticed an issue with the migration of the down. With Karo the openings between the baffles should be small enough to hold the down in place unless extra effort is used to move it. Normal use for me has not caused unwanted migration.
I have made 2 Karo TQs and have had no issues with either. I do not shake them but only unpack them and let them decompress in the hammock or the storage sack I hang them in at home. After the first one or two uses I have not moved the down around in them. I have only move down to add more where I want it like my feet or the sides by my knees. Karo allows me to focus more down in local spots that I want more.
HYOH... this does work for me.
