[EDIT: 2 December: we've received many dozens of applications. not formally closing the door yet, but very soon]
Raftingtigger and I are teaming up to bring a product to market based on the patent-pending "tensahedron" hammock stand design you've maybe read about here: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...sahedron-Stand . To keep that thread DIY-focused, we'll confine posts about commercial development to these manufacturer forums.
Our stand is designed to support gathered-end type hammocks, from hammock chairs up to 12.5' long, with loads up to 350 lbs. It can be set up indoors as easily as out, on surfaces soft or hard, flat or sloped, with or without a tarp. Much more compact and lighter than most stands on the market, it is meant to be very easily transported, quickly set up and repacked, with a smaller footprint and in more conditions than other stands permit.
We are now looking for testers to help us validate and further refine the design. To apply, do not reply in this thread or PM, but instead send email to [email protected] to receive a candidate questionnaire. As we will have a very limited number of stands to distribute, we're looking for a very diverse set of use cases and user profiles: outdoors and in, people heavy and light, short and tall, hardcore and casual.
As nobody is "quitting their day job" for this project, please understand that our communication speed may vary. We will inform all applicants whether they've been selected to test. If you haven't heard from us via return email, it's because we're still deliberating, working on responses to address the questions of many, or just plain backed up. Thank you.
