I love satire and dry humor. IMO, this article is not satire. He's hyperbolic, sure. But I don't get a sense at all that he's kidding about disliking hammocks/hammocking. Only the very end makes you think that maybe he's not as serious as he appears. But that would move him from "ridiculous hatred for hammocks" to "don't like them but used hyperbole for humor." Lines about safety and injuries seem a clear indicator that he's not kidding. Also, none of the other articles I can see by him for that publication are satire, so I don't think this one is any different.
