    Double layer with UQ

I am looking to order my DH but am stuck on 1 thing. I use an UQ, and I would like to order a double layer mainly for the customization. I have read the double layer doesn't work as well with an UQ as a single layer, is this true?

They work just as well with a double layer as they do with a single layer. The number of layer does not affect the fit of the quilt.

Yes, a double layer will work just as well. Let me know how we can help you out.

What sort of "customization"? Only thing I can think of there is using a pad between layers. That's more "options". One could say that if you know you're using and UQ then why get the double layer?

A double layer will have less stretch during the night and feels more supportive, in general. My most comfy hammock is a single layer 1.1 with plenty of stretch, so to each their own. Just gotta get out and find your sweet spot. But for sure, there is nothing affecting the UQ.

Edit... reread the "as well" part... so, if using thicker material and a double layer of it, that can be a significant (but still relatively minor) barrier to feeling the warmth you create in the down UQ. But it does not affect how it insulates.

well one you can do two different colors with double layer (1 color for the outside and 1 color for the inside).

The number of layers to your hammock has no effect on how well an underquilt will work. The design of the underquilt is what's important.
