Thread: Hi from NYC

    Hi from NYC

To be fair this was bound to happen. I never really had a chance. I'm a 30-something ad man who got deeply into climbing a few years ago, and through that got into camping. Mostly within NY/NJ, and then on climbing trips to the southeast (I'm in WV quite a bit).

Found Shug's youtube channel maybe six months ago and despite watching it for hours on end, I thought to myself, "nah. I'm only just getting my tent setup dialed-in. Who needs a hammock?"

Apparently, thanks to Dutch's black friday sale, I do. I need one.

    Damnit.

So here we are. Chameleon's in the mail. Quilts are incoming. Still deciding on a tarp, but the warbonnet mamajamba is currently winning.

So that's that. A brief glimpse into my total financial annihilation. How was everybody else's Thanksgiving?

Haha welcome to the wormhole that is hammocking. Sounds like you have a good start on the gear. Happy hanging!

Stunwin, you might go to some NY and NJ hangs. Thanksgiving meals were wonderful. With life getting in the way, it's easy to be not thankful.

Can you deduct your hammocking gear as a mental health necessity on your taxes, since you live in NYC?

    Welcome and have fun!
