Easy fix for the accordion effect

I have a 3/4 WL underquilt that I use the tato ridge line quilt hook with on the foot end. I think since my hammock is on the longer end of the spectrum (110" ridge line) the hook gives some vertical lift on the shock cord which helps with gaps and looseness under my ankles. My problem was an increase of the accordion effect from the steeper angle of my quilt suspension.
Sine I have no secondarysuspension, I took the shock cord for cinching the collar and put a taughtline hitch on the suspension shock cord on my foot and head sides leaving the opposite corners free for adjustment. A little tension on the hitch keeps the quilt lightly stretched and in place for me.
I just wanted to mention this simple solution since I never thought of it before nor seen anyone else using it. Definitely more simple than sewing the secondary on!
Anybody else tried something like this? Thanks and happy hiking.

Does anyone besides me use prusik knots on the hammock ridge line to attach their under quilt. I saw someone on Youtube use this technic and tried it out. He said instead of tightening the under quilt, you should loosen it. Especially at the head and foot end. I tried this and was amazed how well it worked. Laying at a diagonal spreads the the under quilt out to cover your body completely.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvdDR1HSfQs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-GftNcCvrE

I achieve the same effect by attaching the primary suspension to the hammock end as usual, but then running the cords through a couple of microbiners prussiked to the ridgeline, one at each end.

great idea Gadget, I have been wondering how to lift my DIY UQ a little bit @ mid-leg without sewing a fixed loop on. This is the best variable/ removable UQ suspension aid I have seen . Thanks. Do you think they would work as an additional tie down/ tie out for a tarp?

I'll give it a go next time I'm out, but I don't see why not.
