    Material preference ?

Looking to order my first DH but need some help deciding which material to go with. I weigh 83kg and I'm 5ft9.

I won't be needing a double layer because I use a UQ. I'm looking to maximise comfort but also keep it as light as possible.

What material would everyone recommend ?

I really like the silky smooth feel of the 1.6 HyperD.

This would be my vote as well out of the DH fabric catalog.

Thanks for the replies. I was leaning more towards the 1.6 HyperD tbh

I’m also on board with the 1.6 HyperD for a single-layer hammock.

I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

My width option are anything between 60" to 76".

I'm guessing it's easier to become comfy with it being wider but would this increase the likelihood of excess fabric

    Material preference ?

The 60” will give you a good diagonal lay and you’ll still be able to see out of your hammock. The wider you go, the less visibility you will have.

I am 5’6” have hammocks at 59”, 62” and 66”. I am completely absorbed by the 66 and can’t see out at all.

I am not sure that matters to you or not. I don’t mind it.

I just ordered my Raven in the 1.6 HyperD XL. I emailed Randy and he gave me his opinion on what type of fabric would suit my needs best and this seems like a popular choice. I went as wide as possible as I spend a lot of time lounging in my hammock sideways as a chair and like the extra width for that.
