I was always against using a pad since I got horrible condensation the one time I actually tried it. I woke up at one point and found everything soaked around my back/butt.

This weekend they keep playing with the forecast, 1, -1 now -4. So I'll have a piece of reflectix available as a last line of defense with my 0° UQ.

I was going to add the possible issue of condensation.

I added a full length 1/8" Gossamer Gear Evasote pad and had the 'moist' feeling. It was not nearly as cold as the UQ rating, so that was an issue. I wanted it to try to improve the comfort level of a 10' hammock. It did not improve the comfort. Next time, if I need to increase temp rating, I will use a shorter Evasote pad.

I put an MSR Thermarest base Camp in a Ridgerunner with HG Incubator 20° Econ below.
No condensation, no moist feeling. The temp was only down to 25° F.

I will try the Evasote in the RR next time.

Reduce pad pressure from what you would use if on the ground.
