Door Closing Options on a Superfly.

I've had shock cord on my door tie-out triangles for years. (Hope the following makes sense.) I usually hook them using S-Biners onto the corner tie-out triangles or even the corner tie-out stakes overlapping the doors when closing. This makes it difficult to open one half of a door because you must step over the opposite doors shock cord, or at least that's what most would do. I tend however to trip over mine which brings me to my point.

I thought of just closing the doors "to" each other using an S-Biner in the triangles but it's obvious this would leave a slight opening. May not be good in blowing rain. I thought about a full velcro closer but sometimes long lengths of velcro can be a PITA.

How do you guys close your doors?

Sorry I have no pics, I hope this is understandable. You input is appreciated.

I'm pretty sure what you're describing is what they show on the Thunderfly page. https://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/pr...hunderfly-tarp

I think that would work, but I never tried it. The opening probably wouldn't be that big to cause problems, but I guess it depends on the weather. Still some stepping over involved.

I use this from ZPacks. I think Dutch made it for them. You can unhook one side and the other door stays closed.

I've taken to using KAM snaps on everything. Keeping snake skins together at the middle... attaching my peak bag to the hammock...

I like the product but not crazy about paying more for shipping than the item.

I have used these to wind/rainproof the opening with the door closed to the tie outs, when wind and rain coming from one direction. They did work for the most part but slipped down after a while, don't know if they weren't tight enough or they just don't grip the silnylon perfectly. I didn't see any tarp damage where they were attached. More research is necessary.

I considered putting Kam snaps on my doors but wasn't sure about material damage to my tarp, but I do like the idea.

I use these https://dutchwaregear.com/tarp-door-hook.html on each corner tie out. I have them larksheaded on.

I take about a 2' dogbone of lash-it and add a small shockcord loop on one end and larkshead the other to the door. Clips onto this door hooks really nicely. I often leave one door pegged open for ventilation so ingress/egress has never been an issue. If I need to get in, I just unhook one side and step over.

There have been times I don't bother unhooking and just worm my way through the doors. Thankfully, have not tripped yet...

I've put them on a Superfly, SLD Winter Haven, and 2 DIY tarps and have seen no damage as yet.
