I’m still liking Quinzee in its various possible spellings Kwinzee, etc. It’s a snow shelter built on the ground. The Sock is like an Air Quinzee.

Another possibility since the warm Chinook wind is out, would be some other warm winds like Mistral or Scirocco. Unfortunately they have long ago been taken by companies.

(vs man) Just one word more like human- but they have countless words for snow. Like in English depending on the snow itself; slush, granular, sleet, powder, freezing rain, etc. Maybe something in that vein would work

    Squall, snowsquall, flurry, blizzard?
    How about the Squallbuster?

You might want to think of it swallowing you like a large snake, then something like the Bush Viper or Queensnake might work
I'm getting ahead of myself, but if you introduce another badass hammock, Son of Blackbird would be awesome?

    What do you guys think?

I looked up spindrift, and I was interested to find its nautical origin. Wikipedia says "spoondrift" is its Scottish cousin, and describes snow blowing off of the top of snow drifts.

    Too close, though.

So, words tied to blizzard... tempest, whiteout, flurry, mogul, snowcap, mantle...

Snowcap is very good. Contains the winter element and the protection element.

Yeah, I liked that one. As long as it doesn't evoke a mental image of an actual hat (toque) to anyone.

On another tack, seeing as WB comes from the mtns of Colorado, home of Cheyenne Mtn and NORAD, i thought The Bomb Shelter would be good, but I see Mtn hardwear has already got that. So how about...
    The Bunker?

Edit: Or, as I mused before,...whereelse are you gonna park your Blackbird other than...
    The (SR71) Blackbird Hangar

Between those two, I prefer Bunker
