Massdrop has the Snugpack underquilt for $40

It looks like a pretty good deal:
    https://www.massdrop.com/buy/snugpak...referer=49J7RE

Annoyingly, I had just picked up a pair of CDQ to make an underquilt!

The above link is tied to my Massdrop account as a referral - if you don't want to use that link, you can use this one that removes any rewards I might get for sharing the link: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/snugpak...-under-blanket

The problem is that they are charging $8.50 to ship it. You can still do just as good on Amazon or maybe better shopping around elsewhere.

If you just got the Costco Down Quilts, don't feel bad. They will be pounds lighter!

    Has anyone used this blanket?
If it is the one I am thinking of the suspension is worthless and the blanket would need to be modified to accept a more traditional suspension that actually works. As is there will be lots of gaps, cold spots, and fiddling just to get to that level of insulation.
From the pictures it does look like the same one I have seen a friend use and they experience all these issues without extra work to make it somewhat functional.

It's an -okay- UQ. Like rais'n said, it takes quite a bit of fiddling with it to get it to a usable level. Cheasapeake (sp?) is a forum member that comes to mind who has done modifications and testing to bring this UQ up to snuff.

I have been using one for the past 10 months or so. As is I have used it to the mid-40s F, with 'mods' to the upper 30s F.

The deal is back. I don’t have one, and they’re heavy, but I’ve heard very good things about them from other members. Thought I would just leave a heads up for anyone looking.

They're heavy. Looks like they've changed the design a little, mine is about 2 years old now. But, I really had to mess around with it to get it to fit my hammock correctly. One you get that worked out then it works as designed to keep you warm.

I'd say they're good down to 40ish*, YMMV.

In hindsight, I'd rather go with a multi-layer CDT option such as Leviova's Gemini UQ project, but that's just me.

I’ve had my Gemini underquilt setup down to the 20’s and was still comfortable.

I would be interested in getting one just to mod it, but 3lbs 3oz - yikes! Even 2 costco blankets + a full length underquilt protector for waterproofing would come in lighter.

    Yikes! 51 oz? You're right about that. That's 3/4 lb heavier than my full-length wide (80" x 50") 15F synthetic underquilt!
