Love it MichiganDave. I to like to take all the fun toys in the winter. All my bushcraft toys that are way to heavy if I was hiking with a pack.

Heading out in 4 hours! I was also happy to see Shugs new video. I really need to do a non-pulk trip like that to get back into the groove of winter backpacking. I've been slacking for a couple years now.

Where is winter? We've had but 2 measurable snowfalls which melted away within a day or so. And I've only worn a coat twice.

BIG rain coming here. Fortunately all my camp areas up north will be getting 8-10" of snow tomorrow. Then the cold looks to be setting in for good (but I keep saying that).

The fact that I bought a hot tent and stove should have pretty much guaranteed winter is over before it even started.

I would love to have snow here. It's on my bucket list.

We've had 4-5, possibly more, shots of cold(for Florida) this season. This last shot on Monday had frost on my car. Frost is as close as I've been to snow.
I would like to put in an order for a few inches, please.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Here we go again. Mid-30s for highs, only mid-upper 20s for lows. I'm getting so sick of this wet warm crap!!!

I guess I need to go south as I look at some of my "favorites" marked in the weather app. I know the lakes have some effect, but this is getting ridiculous.

    Current temps:

    Mesick MI: 27°
    Vanderbilt MI: 27°
    Ludington MI 33°
    Fort Wayne IN: 19°
    Bloomington IN: 19°
    Snowshoe WV: 13°

Looks like I'm going to have to move to ME, or at least visit, to get some decent winter weather!

This weekend — AGAIN! — 40's and rain, not even down to freezing at night!

That was like our "winter hang" a couple weekends back. Fast forward a week and below zero temps. You never know in Maine!
