Last year I had two cold nights out because I couldn't find dry material to burn. I've made it my 2018 goal to get good at making fires in the snow.

If you folks are as pumped as I am, I'd love to hear from you.

    Yes--
I used to do a lot of winter camping as a Scout (Many moons ago) and looking forward to getting out a few times this year to help break up the Michigan Winter (Cabin fever) Blues.
I hope I can pass this fun on to my Grandsons. My Sons never liked cold weather camping.

I haven't been winter hammocking yet. Have not had enough spot to hang in safety in case i needed to bail. But now that i have a tato stand. I can't wait for it to get cold.

I do need to work on getting some face protection. But that shouldn't slow me down.
When the wife asks, I simply say "Shug made me do it".

I hear ya! I can't wait to hang in the snow. This cold and rainy weather we're having in central pa needs to move on to cold and snowy.

Me as well. I envy those who have hiking partners that are at the same skill level.

I AM, even bought snow shoes off ebay(new ones are too costly for the little use they will get)! Managed to get into some nice snow at Citico/Joyce Kilmer last year, and post-holing 10+ inches of snow was a serious workout. Every step, your forward momentum is eaten up by they compression of the snow. Mt. Leconte got a few inches this last weekend.

Second the pocket bellows. I loved it so much I bought several to keep in every pack I have, daypack, backpack, portage pack, thwart bag etc.
