I'd suggest looking into the location of the carabiner on the tree as it relates to the tag end of the strap. This thread talks about a dutch clip, but the info relates to caribiners as well. As you show it, you've got a lot of stress on the caribiner.
It's a climbing rated carabiner.... No worries.

And the carabiner is handy if you need to relocate your straps higher or lower once you are already hanging and there are branches I can the way.

Looks like you did a really good job on your project. Good looking stitches! To second someone else's comment on your tree side caribiners... You'll want to twist those around counterclockwise so they're not taking the brunt of the forces. The straps should pass through pretty much straight.

Very true! I had to do that a couple of times and I was very gratefule I had the caribiner. Saved myself several minutes and didnt have to worry about the hammock laying on the ground or blowing around while adjusting. I think its definitely worth the extra weight (22 grams each) for the convenience

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm already thinking about my next project. Not sure what I'm going to do next. Maybe a wind shirt or play around with fleece.
