    33° tonight - stacking top quilts..Costco

    Adding a Costco quilt tonight.

    I hope this gets me to 30°

    • JRB Sierra Stealth 40°-45°
    • JRB Qult Liner +5°
    • Costco Quilt - 700FP?

    x - (70-y)/2=Z

    x=45°
    y=?

    where x equals the warmer quilt (Sierra Stealth)

    Costco quilt is Y but i am not sure what it is rated...50°?

    Crap...wrong forum. Can the moderators move this to Top Insulation?

    I've used the Costco quilt comfortably to 50 degrees. Using the chart prepared by Enlightened Equipment, combining the Costco quilt (50 degrees) with your Sierra Stealth (40-45 degrees), you should be good for 20 degrees, which more than covers your expected 33 degrees tonight.

    Good hanging! We're expecting 25-28 tonight which should make for a great night!

    I’ve used a Costco quilt down to upper 30’s, but also had a second one draped over my ridgeline and then the top cover on my Chameleon.

    Tonight I’m going to try my Dutch netless, so no top cover, and use the Costco quilts. Expected low is 44.

    Good to hear. I have a quilt liner as well so I'm ready to fly.

    Just waiting on the skies to clear before I drop the bird.

    Take off is 10PM.

    How did the stacking of quits go? I hung out last night and the forecast was for 32 but it only got to 39 but the wind howled last night. I was toasty warm in my LocoLibre 20 degree top quilt and 3 season Lynx. Nose always gets a bit cold.
