When I was first starting and experimenting, I used something similar to move around. Now that iv got my setup more dialed in, I found it's not needed. If I need to, I can always grab the hammock body sides.

It seems, if the hammock is hanging properly, you're probably going to be as close to the head end as you'll ever need. I suppose it might be different if you're fairly short and you have a hammock that's 11' (or more.)

We've dealt with folks who don't have the use of both arms or don't have the strength to properly position themselves in the hammock. In some cases we've attached these loops to the ridgeline so that folks with limited mobility can sit up or exit the hammock.

I have ordered my Darien with the gear loop at the foot end only, and I think it will be very useful to attach a stuff sack. Really like that idea!

This is excellent! I've been mentally rigging up just such a thing on a future hammock for my 76 year old mom who is mobility challenged and an avid kayaker. She has never been able to river camp because she can't really tent camp. Once she's on the ground she's down for the count.
I know she can get in and out of one by seeing her method for getting in and out of her kayaks (yes, she has 5 at the moment) it would be the sitting up that would be a problem. One of these on the ridgeline is almost exactly what I was figuring. Nice to see other mobility challenged people are benefiting from our venders.
