    Gear Loops and Hand Loops?

So I've placed my order for my Dream Hammock Raven and I'm looking at maybe adding some options to it. What are your thoughts on gear loops? I plan on putting at least one on one end for when I use my sleeping bag as a top quilt (to keep it attached). Is there much use for one on the top end of the hammock as well? I did get the ridge line organizer so I don't think I'd need it to attach any storage (or maybe I would?). What about the Hand Loops, do people find those useful?

It's a loop sewn onto the end of a gear loop with the idea that you can use it to pull yourself up the hammock and position yourself easier... I know on my ENO I'm always grabbing the top fabric and pulling myself up towards the head end... Here's a pic:

    Gear Loops and Hand Loops?

I put an amsteel CL at the inside of each peak of my hammock for that purpose, but I haven't used them yet. I didn't think of using webbing.

Just wanted to make sure we're talking the same thing

I know James has put them in his Warriors (little shop of hammocks) on occassion

the last one of his I checked out had it, and I thought it was a really neat idea

it's not something that I'd use personally (not yet anyway) but I can definitely see where some would like it

Gear loops are useful for attaching peak bags, etc. As for hand loops, much more of an individual thing.

Dream Hammock has been using these for a number of years now. They work really well for folks who may have mobility issues or just want a place to grab onto to hoist themselves up higher into the hammock. We've also added many to the ridgeline for folks who need a little more help getting out of the hammock.

The amsteel dogbone design with webbing hand loop also allows you to hook a pillow to the amsteel loop via mini biner or even in some case a small pack or peak bag.
