As it pertains to my two new Econ Quilts, mentioned above, there was/is absolutely no smell whatsoever.
Overall, I couldnt be any happier with the final product(s).
We hope you all enjoy all of your quilts! If there is an odor, typically that goes away rather quickly when airing it out. As with all animal products and the DWR treatment of animal products, that can occasionally happen. It's definitely not typical, and if it is an issue, please don't hesitate to contact us. Nobody wants a wet goose / duck hanging out in their hammock... unless of course you have a wet goose / duck in your hammock... in which case, keep it to yourself.
Out of the 11 (non econ) quilts I have/had, only one had a slight wet dog smell, which went away after two separate hangs outside. I'm sure the sun/breeze took care of it.
FWIW I also had this smell, but to a greater extent, with a very expensive Marmot sleeping bag.
Had my first 38 degree night out with my 0 degree Econ incubator and was thorougly impressed. Feet never popped out of the wide and I was sweating in my boxers and t shirt. Looking forward to taking this bad boy down to temps it was built for.
And I love the contrast with the black SLD hammock. You can't go wrong with the Econ series from HG.
Got notice today my new Econ 20* Burrow is on its way!
This will be my first ever piece of kit with Downy Goodness.
Can't wait to sleep in its warmth!
Thanks HG for the economical price on what by ALL accounts is an excellent piece of kit.

Was excited to receive my new HG econ Incubator and Burrow Saturday. You know what happens next, of course I spent Saturday night outside in the backwoods.
Both are zero degree quilts. Temps reached 35 overnite, I was suitably impressed how warm I stayed. Towards morning I was venting to stay comfortable.
Very impressive works of craftsmanship, they look and feel better than I expected. Should do well with my expectations of winter hammocking in the coming winter(s).
Thanks to Hammock Gear and staff for delivering before Gluttony Hang November 2-5!!

Do they ever run sales? I see that they do sometimes sell imperfect ones
