Cool Hiking McAfee Knob and Tinker Cliffs on the AT in VA

Missed out on the awesome views earlier this year so I decided to go back up for the short 4 mile hike to the Knob and ended up going to Tinker cliffs too. Note my poor GoPro skills but enjoy the great views! Fall hiking in VA is great! I'll be going a little further north on the AT next week and hammock camping so hopefully I'll get another video to share.

So, I know it gets crazy busy up there, but are there any restrictions on camping?
It looks like an awesome place to cowboy camp on the offseason. Just once. Maybe during a full moon lighting up the valley or a new moon during something like the geminids meteor shower.

You cannot camp on or in close proximity to the Knob per signs posted everywhere. However there are campsites both north and south that are within easy hiking distance.

Thanks for sharing. The fall is my favorite time to be out in the woods!
