Nope... with the crowd on this one.
My [very] old candle lantern has been relegated to power outages use for years now.
It was one thing 40 years ago when the only other alternatives were multiple D cell battery flashlights that didn't last long. Then maglights, but they were SO heavy...
Today there are just too many cheap/light alternatives. It's hard to top the 100s+ hour life on a 2032 battery keychain light at a couple of grams.

A candle lantern in a hammock or tent is a definite No!
Now a small charcoal BBQ is a whole different story.

My headlamp, looped over my ridgeline, provides plenty of light. It also warms my heart.
    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

As mentioned by others, I carry a candle lantern on every trip, but I never have it in the hammock with me. It's on the ground or hanging nearby.

I use either a Luci light or the LED ridgeline lights from Dutch's site for lights in my hammock. If you want extra warmth in your hammock do what I do: throw a couple hand warmers into your hammock/quilt

Build a man a fire and he'll be warm for a night.
Set a man afire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Ya see? I agree with ya'll on this forum, much more than the hammock camping on facebook. There are several on there that actually use it in their hammock. Not me! I was wondering if I was missing something...

I might be insane. I make my own beeswax candles for my UCO lantern. I have slow burning wicks that I make by soaking them on borax and epsom salt solution. It makes a sort of fire retardant and they burn much longer. I get almost 12 hours per candle.

I have slept in my hammock with the UCO on the ridgeline. The tarp was 12" above that. The tarp ends wide open. The beeswax doesn't give off all the carbon monoxide that paraffin does. It produces negative ions that clean the air.

Not sure I'll continue doing this as it is said the beeswax attracts bears...
