    Tensahedron Stand

"This is my <4-lb, 98% free-standing "Fulcrum Stand." Can be set up on a beach, a slope, in a parking lot, or on top of a twin bed. No ground staking required: single anchor can be the base of a shrub, big rock, cooler, motorcycle, bed frame, etc.: it just manages balance, not needing to bear the user's weight.

Most who've seen it have told me to get a patent application in, and when's the Kickstarter etc. OK. Officially patent pending!"

I slept 4 nights in this working prototype before stupidly destroying it in a transport accident. It was in pricey carbon fiber tubing, which I'm certain isn't necessary to do the job. So I'll be iterating in cheaper aluminum.

Also figure it's better to have 4 separately shock-corded poles than one continuous.

    Very intresting...
I am curious how this would work for a restless sleeper, but I love how compact this gets!
Much easier transport than the Aluminum Mast poles that I have for a "portable" turtledog stand.

Wow that's really thinking outside the box. Good job.

Really thought it was cool that only one side had to be staked!

Neat! Is it hard to get the balance correct? ie what if you climb in a little off center towards the tie down? I typically climb in my hammock and need to "scooch" one way or the other so I wonder how well it does with horizontal forces.

Yeah, I guess I want to try one.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

    Thumbs up

Nice.....Ive gotta cut down one of the trees that I hang from at home so I might be in the market for a stand here soon if I don't use 4×4 posts permanently concreted in the ground. What price range are you looking to be in? Will there be any possible options? Will it be able to be used with 10' & 11' hammocks and tarps , or just hammocks x' long ? Very interesting, keep us informed.

In thinking it over - I am curious how this works with tarps....
so long as it doesn't tip at all, I imagine it is plausible

Yea, you do not want to use 4x4's but that's a different thread ...

I'm curious to see more details of this Hogwarts hammock stand.
    And what about a tarp?
