Difficult to find a good method to connect 3/4 electrical conduit together. With a tool like one in photo the end can be shaped to fit inside another piece.
cjclint - where did you get that tool and what is it callt?

May I ask you guys if the stand would work with a DD Frontline XL . I am not very experienced and unsure if it would work?

It should work with any gathered end hammock. I'm not familiar with that model. It should also work with an AMOK. Bridge hammocks on the other hand are unlikely as a general rule. There will always be someone out there who makes it work.

Looks like a fun trip, Latherdome- I camped in the Priest Hole area late last October. Very beautiful.

I don't know where he got it, but apparently it's called a "swage" tool, used to crimp ends to nest into each other. Not easy to find, and not cheap most of the time. It will almost definitely be cheaper and easier to go get (linked) Lowes fence top rails and cut in half to have the swaged end already done.

Also, a video I found of a handmade option: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiWhyEFMAMk

I could not find a good connector for 3/4 electrical conduit so I made this conduit crimper out of scrap metal. You really need a press to use the tool. To make the tool you need about 6" of 1" x 2" flat bar stock cut into 2 pieces 3" long. (I didn't have 2" flat and welded pieces of 1" square together). Place 2 pieces of 2" flat together and drill 4 3/8" holes for pilot bolts. Bolt 2 halves together and drill a 13/16 hole through middle between the 2 halves. Hopefully you will understand this by looking at the photo. Bolts hold the pieces tightly together to drill the larger hole and later are used as pilot pins to hold everything straight while crimping the tubing.

jdy98p, tool in video is similar to what I made but nicer. Mine crimps a 2" long area. Expect 2 bolts for pilot pins would be okay in place of 4 I used.
