Fenix CL20R looks like a great ridgeline lantern!

    https://www.fenix-store.com/blog/fen...tern-released/
So I saw this! It looks like it was recently released and would be great ridgeline lantern. So I ordered one and will get it in a few days and let you know how it performs! It's rechargeable, has a big diffusing lens, built in hang loop, and a neutral white tone. It's not gonna win any awards for cheap and light, but it's not too bad either. $40 and 91 grams. It's the first light I've seen that meets my criteria. I was looking for neutral or warm tone, something that doesn't use button cell batteries or a twisty style activation that requires two hands to operate, under 4 oz, with a lantern style diffuser.
TIP: Use this to hang it!

The CL20R is a great lantern. I use one around the house regularly. It normally resides in my bathroom, providing light for those nighttime trips to relieve the bladder. But I use it under the hood of the car and anyplace I need additional light. Like Dutch, it is easy on the eyes; no harsh glare.
I haven't taken it backpacking because I use my headlamp for a ridgeline light, but the lantern would provide better quality of light.

How long have you had it? I’m simply curious how long it’s been around. There’s no date on that blog post.

Agreed, but do you know of anything else that would actually compare to it that’s priced better? Meaning something with a neutral/warm tone, well-designed/effective diffuser, rechargeable, one-handed operation, under 4 oz, red light mode. I’ve tried the Luci Light and wasn’t impressed with the brightness or diffusion quality and it’s too big for my tastes and don’t want to fuss with solar charging.

Fenix has a model CL09 that is about $35 and lighter, about an ounce I think, but it’s a twisty activation. If you don’t mind that, it’s a decent option too.

Interesting, it seemed like a more recent release. You sure it’s not the old non-rechargeable version (CL20) that they compare it to in this image? Because I am not seeing a whole lot of reviews on it online.

The rechargeable version did just come out a couple weeks ago. I've had my eye on this one as well. The runtimes are impressive.

Really like my BD Moji lantern, but it doesn't have the features this has. Although those tend to run about 10-15 on sale.
