Question Detailed Dimensions of HG Dyneema (Cuben) Fiber Palace Tarp

I want to know more detailed dimensions of the HG Dyneema (Cuben) Fiber Palace Tarp. I'm mostly interested in the 12' ridge line version. I know the width is 10'4". I want to know the other dimensions, in particular the length of the sides, like in the picture below of a different tarp, where the sides are 74" long - what would that be on the 12 foot Palace? What about the 11 foot palace?

When the tarp is in shelter mode pitched to the ground, what would the "footprint" be? I think the width would vary on based on the angle, but the length would be fixed. There would be a maximum angle before the bottom of the doors stop overlapping.

I want to know if a ZPacks Bathtub Groundsheet would fit in side it or if the groundsheet will be too long. The largest version is roughly 90" and the other two are 84" long (I think they are actually longer on one side, but by how much I don't know)

Note that the groundsheet is longer on the front edge and shorter towards the back to match the (Hexamid) tent footprint.
I ask because I mainly want to go hammocking but my wife wants to go camping, and using the Palace as a tarp tent will help justify the purchase.

I tried googling and searching this forum but I couldn't find the answer.

You may want to email Hammock Gear. They are very nice people and would be the definitive source on this information. Just an FYI to the wife but any larger tarp can be taken to ground as a ground shelter

Thanks, I emailed them to ask. If they don't mind the information being shared I'll post the size here for other people to find.

This is the information I received from HammockGear

For the 12 ft Palace Tarp, the long end at the bottom of the tarp measures 90 inches. On an 11 ft Palace Tarp, that measurement is 78 inches.

I would appreciate it if someone could also note the standard “packed size” (i.e., as delivered in stuff sack or even better a bishops bag, not in a sleeve) of an 11’ Palace? Would like to compare that to my mombajamba in B-bag plus door kits to keep things equivalent ...

On my final glide-path to buying-down those precious tarp ounces and making the switch, have been researching and appreciating all the great pro/con info in the forum, and packability is among my final curiosities.

    Thanks in advance, Helf

I recall a thread on here with someone posting side by side pics of a palace tarp vs some other tarps (all in stuff sacks). IiRC one may have been in a non-standard stuff sack. If I find it again I’ll link it here. Also Shug or some others might show a comparison is one of their videos.

I am the same, I want to know all the variables and have a table to compare them all against my musts/wants to score them.

L to R, 11' HG Cuben Hex, no doors, no skins.
11' WB Super fly, stock bag, no skins.
    11' HG Winter Palace w/doors, w/cuben skin.
    12'x 12' modded HG Standard w/doors, w/mesh skins.

-- The Superfly is in it's stock bag and can be squished down even further. All others are non stock bags and thats about their packed size.

Thanks Levi Tate, that's the post I was thinking of pretty much, I found the old thread where you posted same thing pretty much, and has some more pics for those interested. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...=1#post1689873.

I really appreciate you and JHarbin etc posting these as it's a great help to see the pack-size before splurging on the tarps.

Yes - thanks very much, folks! Very helpful ...

I had seen that thread too, but the pictures would not display for me so I assumed they were too old or something ... The same thing happened again here, but now I realize I had just let my login time out, which has the same effect! My bad - appreciate the assist ...
