    Coughing

I've been sleeping in a hammock full time for about 45 days now. This week I'm under the weather and have been coughing my head off. The issue is when I cough it rocks the hammock which wakes me up. The coughing alone doesn't and a rocking hammock is great. But the two combined is the worlds most evil alarm clock.

Anyone have any tricks or tips? I moved to the bed today and was able to sleep. I woke up with a sore back but was able to sleep.

Drink a lot of water flush out the cold in your nose. Plus all the trips to the bathroom will help you sleep between trips to the potty.

At one time in my life I used herbs to get rid of coughing, worked well for me.

Warm milk, some honey or sugar and Homemade Vanilla right before bed assures sleep and soothes a cough.

    Vaporizing while sleeping sometimes helps.

Try more pillows to help with your breathing.

All else fails a recliner works okay for a short time.

1+ All else fails a recliner works okay for a short time.

This is the only thing that keeps me from coughing all night. It feels pretty good at first because I'm not hacking my head off and it's not as much like giving up as getting in bed. Even lying on multiple pillows in the bed doesn't help. Plus, in the recliner I can reach out for a warm cup of honey and lemon, take a slug and go right back to sleep.

Lemon and Honey Throat Lozenges are easy to make at home and they work well.

I slept in a recliner for a long time, my shoulders would dislocate while I slept. In the recliner no dislocations. I finally had the shoulders pinned, bought a Tempur Pedic Bed. WHEN MY BED DIES I WILL HANG FULL TIME.

You could try using tie-outs to dampen the swinging effect

I'm assuming you're hammocking inside at this point, so if you can get away with stealing the couch cushions without getting scolded by any room mates or significant others, I'd pile up just enough right under where your butt goes to where you really don't notice it when you get in, but enough to where you come in contact with it you and essentially act as an "earthquake buffer".

This is brilliant! My only roommate is my wife. At first she was totally against the hammock in the bedroom. That was until she realized there was now room for the dogs to sleep with her.
