    BWCA Sept 2017 Canoe Trip

This was our first trip to BWCA. We started off with a group of 4 and ended up with 2 making the trip. The trip leader lives in South Florida and got hit with Hurricane Irma a week before we left and could not make it after a year of planning.
BWCA campsites are great for hammocks. There is no lack of trees and views from the hammock.

Already looking forward to going back in 2018. This was more of a scouting trip for the next adventure and hopefully our trip leader will miss the hurricanes next year.

Nice! My father and I did a BWCA trip a couple years ago and it was perfect for hammock camping. Really liked it up there. Always makes me think of what America looked like when the first explorers arrived. Must have been a sight to see.

What a fantastic trip video. The scenery is gorgeous. The canoe looked to be very light weight which is important with the portages. I would love to do a trip like this some day.

I had to look up how far a rod is. 1 rod = 5.5 yards

Also 16.5 feet, which traditionally is one canoe length.
Homer: Sir, I need to know where I can get some business hammocks.

Hank Scorpio: Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks!

The canoe was around 45 lbs which isn't bad for a tandem. The best deal for once a year trip is to rent one from an outfitter. $40 a day for a high end canoe is a great deal.

The canoe length makes it easy to remember. We double portaged so we walked the distance x 3. 220 rods turned into a 660 rod walk or about 2 miles

Thanks for watching. The gear review may have cost you 15 minutes of your life you will never get back
