That's what I was thinking too... Looks like the kids needed a safety net after they decided to play "acrobat" and little tommy fell and busted an arm.... " oh, get dads hammock, he won't mind " lol The dump trucks are dead give away that its boys that came up with the idea, a girl would have it perfectly centered and NOT tied up to the red strap " for extra support in case we fall" . you know that's exactly what they had going through their heads lol. It' s like the adult " here, hold my beer and watch this" lol.

I think he was just using what they had available to stretch open the hammock to dry it out...

Obviously a Ninja Warrior course, with the hammie as a safety net.

That's what it looks like to me as well - a safety net. If it was just to dry the hammock out, why have the extra handlebars/rings - you'd only need one. Looks like something I would have come up with as a kid. Spent way more time rigging up the system than actually using it.

Hey, I came across your brother while browsing some stock photos! He's clearly the silly one.

The strap kept the hammock from flopping in the wind.
    That could be.

I know....a running start, trampoline off the hammock onto the bars, do a 360 up & over the ridge line and then a dismount.

Slackline, with a hammock as a safety net. A very poor safety net.
